Musically Inclined

Today’s Daily Prompt: Strike a Chord

Do you play an instrument? Is there a musical instrument whose sound you find particularly pleasing? Tell us a story about your experience or relationship with an instrument of your choice.

When I was in middle school (junior high), I played the flute. However, it was not something that I became extremely attached to or anything. I did pick up a guitar once, but never really got into that at all.

I’m trying to think whether or not there is a particular sound I find pleasing and drawing a blank on that. However, I can say that there are some singers whose voices captivate me. There are a few ladies at church that I could listen to for hours. Their voices are just beautiful and their talent blows me away on Sunday mornings – it is very heavenly. ;)

As far as experience goes, I’d have to take a minute and point out my relationship with guitar players – my husband and my son. Between the two of them, I’ve lost count on how many guitars we have around the house and sitting at the church. Nonetheless, they are extremely talented and I like listening to my kid playing my favorite hits from the 90’s – especially Metallica’s “One.” He could play that over and over again and I’d never get sick of hearing it. :)
